Segment II: The Messages

2130H, Dark Spot

"Disconnect... now!"

the message was clear... someone has been monitoring us... even the neutral ones... they don't really want strangers prying on them... witnesses, they say... it's their nature... multiple connection site, signals bouncing from one address to another... no system logs, everything nuked after an assembly... anounymous conferences...

it seemed to a normal person that this things are only fiction... a pigment of imagination... stuff that can only be seen in pocket novels and sci-fi mystery movies.. these things are actually being used now, as they have been used before... ciphers and puzzles embeded on news stories, crosswod puzzles and even those sad orbituaries...

with computers, they used anonymous chat channels, webpages,.. special links stored on tiny icons, sometimes even on a dot... with the advent of social networking and blogging, their communication tools grew wider... anonymous comments, description pages and blogs... using a customized interface to access such a blog, they would decrypt any hidden message... even reply using an anonymous comment, with an encrypted message hidden of course...

but this people are not from any government... not from any intelligence agency, either... perhaps, an industrialist company wanting domination... but overwhat?.. the internet?.. but, how?.. and most importantly, why?

i need answers... i have to go back... got to log on to the system...

i logged in thru a backdoor connection... and monitored a sequence of jumps thru multiple address... it's them... a meeting is about to commence... i will only be 'listening'... i need to stay neutral...

"Be careful..."

whoa! where did that message come from... the screen blanked and then the message appeared from nowhere... were they really that fast... the connection was severed... this might have been a trap...

and then my mobile rang... who might this be... no number... caller unknown... but i've got to know... i need to answer... they say, "curiousity killed the cat"... got to be carefull next time... i got to answer the call...
